Train for the Australian Market.
Not the Global Average.
Our curriculum is built around what Australian firms actually need. Every module maps to real Australian workflows: AS/NZS standards, NCC compliance, Rawlinsons pricing, Autodesk ACC coordination. If it's not on an Australian project, it's not in our course.
Get certified to Australian standards. Work with confidence.

Your name appears in the publicly searchable AEC Labs graduate registry, visible to Australian firms sourcing certified talent.
Add your AEC Labs certificate directly to the Licences & Certifications section of your LinkedIn profile with a verifiable link.
Your certificate is designed to be understood by Australian AEC firms. When they see it, they know exactly what competencies have been assessed and verified.
How it works
Apply
Create a free account and select your entry pathway. Foundation is open to all applicants. Professional and Advanced require completion of the preceding certificate. Each cohort is structured for working professionals, with flexible scheduling and online delivery.
Demonstrate Competency
Work through structured modules at your own pace. Assessments combine portfolio submissions, written exams, and practical exercises using real Australian project documentation. You must demonstrate competency, not just attendance, to progress.
Get Certified and Listed
Pass the final assessment at 70% or above to earn your AEC Labs certificate. You'll receive a digital badge, a certificate PDF, a unique verification code (format: AECL-FND-2026-XXXXXX), and your name will be listed in the public graduate registry, visible to Australian firms.
Three pathways. One standard.
Foundation Certificate in Australian AEC Practice
The entry point. Designed for offshore professionals who want to work with Australian firms but need to understand the standards, tools, and documentation conventions that Australian projects run on. No prerequisite. Open to all applicants.
8 Modules
Professional Certificate in Australian AEC Practice
The step up. Builds directly on Foundation, moving into advanced coordination, live estimating, and AI-assisted workflows. Designed for professionals ready to take on more complex responsibilities in an Australian firm context.
7 Modules
Advanced Certificate in Australian AEC Practice
The senior pathway. Prepares graduates for BIM management, leadership, and complex documentation roles. Includes ISO 19650 compliance, Revit 2027 AI integration, and Autodesk ACP preparation. The highest AEC Labs certification available.
7 Modules
From Newcomer to AEC Professional
A structured eight-course pathway built specifically to empower offshore AEC talent — particularly in the Philippines — to develop job-ready skills for Australian firms. Each course is milestone-based: complete all modules to unlock the course certificate, then stack certificates to reach the next level.
No experience required to start. Foundation courses are free. Each milestone builds directly on the last.
AEC Industry Orientation
What the AEC industry is, how Australian construction projects work, roles and careers, project documentation, and how to succeed as an offshore professional.
Professional Skills for Remote AEC Work
Professional English for construction, email and written communication, virtual meetings, time management, Australian workplace culture, and building your career profile.
AutoCAD Essentials for AEC
Master AutoCAD for architectural and engineering drafting to Australian standards. Interface, precision drawing, layers, text and dimensions, layouts, blocks and external references.
Revit Core Skills
Build solid Revit modelling skills from the ground up — project setup, walls, floors, roofs, stairs, views, sheets, annotations, schedules and Revit families.
Revit for Construction Documentation
Produce professional Australian construction drawing sets. Linked models, model coordination, phasing, drawing issue management, and project-specific AU workflows.
Project Administration for AEC
The administrative backbone of Australian projects: drawing registers, RFIs, change management, meeting minutes, contract admin and project handover and close-out.
BIM Coordination
Federated model coordination for Australian projects. Navisworks, clash detection, ACC coordination workflows, coordination reporting, and live multi-discipline coordination.
Quantity Surveying Fundamentals
Quantity surveying and cost estimation for Australian construction. Reading drawings for measurement, take-off methodology, Bills of Quantities, cost planning and tender pricing.
Complete the Full Pathway
Completing all 8 courses — 52 milestone modules, 260+ quiz questions — qualifies you for the AEC Labs Professional Certificate, the industry benchmark for certified offshore AEC talent.

What to know before your assessment
Our assessments test applied knowledge, not raw memorisation. Before sitting your final assessment, make sure you're familiar with the following areas.
Australian Standards & NCC
Understanding the structure of the National Construction Code (NCC) and AS/NZS drawing conventions is tested in the Foundation assessment. You don't need to memorise every clause, but you need to know how to navigate and apply the documents.
View the AEC Labs Standards Framework →Revit for Australian Projects
Assessments use Australian project templates, not the Autodesk defaults. Familiarise yourself with AS/NZS annotation styles, sheet naming conventions, and how levels and grids are set up on Australian residential and commercial projects.
BIM Coordination Basics
For Foundation, you'll need a working understanding of clash detection principles, IFC export workflows, and how model coordination is managed on multi-discipline Australian projects using Autodesk Construction Cloud.
Documentation Workflow
Know the full documentation workflow from DA to construction issue, including transmittals, RFI management, drawing registers, and how revisions are tracked and communicated to Australian project teams.
Frequently asked questions
Is my experience enough to apply?
Foundation is open entry with no minimum experience required. If you have any background in architectural drafting, BIM coordination, or CAD production, you'll be able to start Foundation immediately. Professional and Advanced require you to hold the preceding certificate first. If you're unsure which level is right for you, contact us and we'll advise based on your background.
How long does it take to complete?
Foundation takes 14 weeks, Professional takes 20 weeks, and Advanced takes 32 weeks. All programmes are designed for working professionals. Modules are self-paced within each cohort window, with scheduled assessments at fixed points. Most candidates study 5–8 hours per week alongside full-time work.
What does it cost?
Pricing varies by certification level and whether you're enrolling individually or as part of a firm. Full fee details are on our pricing page, including individual, bulk, and employer-sponsored options.
Is AEC Labs certification recognised in Australia?
AEC Labs certification is recognised by Australian AEC firms as evidence that a candidate has been assessed against Australian drawing standards, NCC requirements, and the documentation conventions used on real Australian projects. The certification was designed in collaboration with Australian firms and reflects what they actually need from offshore team members. All certificates are publicly verifiable at aeclabs.com.au/validate.
Can I retake if I don't pass?
Yes. If you don't reach the 70% pass mark on your final assessment, you can sit a resit within the same cohort period. A resit fee applies. If you don't pass on resit, you can re-enrol in the next cohort at a reduced rate. We don't cap the number of attempts. We want you to succeed.
