Accreditation Requirements
Our standards are set to maintain the integrity of the AEC Labs certification mark. Requirements apply to Accredited Training Sponsors.
ISO/IEC 17024 Alignment
Delivery and assessment processes must align with the ISO/IEC 17024 standard for personnel certification bodies. AEC Labs provides a compliance checklist.
Annual Quality Audit
Partners undergo an annual desk-based audit covering learner outcomes, assessment validity and trainer qualifications. Continuous accreditation depends on satisfactory audit results.
Trainer Qualifications
All trainers delivering AEC Labs–aligned content must hold a relevant AEC industry qualification at or above the level they teach, plus a Certificate IV in Training and Assessment (or equivalent).
Staff CPD Requirements
Training staff must complete a minimum of 20 hours of industry CPD per year. AEC Labs publishes an approved CPD activity list annually and accepts equivalent industry professional development.
Curriculum Compliance
Partners must deliver against the AEC Labs competency unit specifications. Curriculum mapping documentation is required at application and reviewed at each audit cycle.
Outcome Reporting
Partners submit quarterly learner outcome data including enrolment numbers, assessment completion rates, and certification pass rates. Data is aggregated for the AEC Labs Annual Report.
Application Process
From enquiry to accreditation in three clear steps. Most applications are assessed within 30 business days.

Approx. 5–7 business days to receive acknowledgement and an initial eligibility assessment.

Approx. 15 business days for full assessment. Conditional approval granted where minor gaps exist.
Accreditation
Successful partners receive the Accredited Training Sponsor agreement, access credentials and official badge assets. Listing goes live within 5 business days.
